Founded in 1796, Concord is a small city located right off of I-85. Historically Concord is known for its historic area downtown featuring a modest main street and many locally owned shops. Today these features still exist but also include Concord Mills, a huge shopping mall that entails entertainment such as AMC Theaters and the newly installed aquarium. Another aspect of present Concord is the large industry for NASCAR and the Speedway. Concord is a great town that still embodies its name –“harmony” with its great mix of industrial, business, and residential life. It is also well known for having premier biotechnology centers.
