Myers Park

RESOURCES

Before Historic Myers Park was recognized in 1911, for its pristine grand homes and willow oaks lined side- walks in South Charlotte, it was known for its cotton farm landscape.  Architect, John Nolen turned this cotton farm into the beautiful neighborhood which incorporated a curved landscape with traditional brick Georgians and Tudor style homes. Today, the corridor along Selwyn Avenue supports new upscale condos. Freedom Park is within walking distance, which is great for any outdoor activities and the best lit tennis courts around town.  Myers Park, is home to some historic sites like The Duke Mansion, Theatre Charlotte and Manor Theatre.  It remains one of the most sort after picturesque communities in Charlotte.

The local attractions include, Charlotte Nature Museum, Mint Museum Randolph, which is located in the original branch of the U.S. Mint and features various exhibits from around the world.  Popular neighborhood eateries include, Stagioni Four Seasons of Food, Mellow Mushroom, Fenwick’s Restaurant and Zio’s Restaurant.

Do not miss out on: The Festival in the Park at Freedom Park each year at the end of September. Getting lost at the baffling intersection of Queens Road, Queens Road, Providence Road, and Providence Road.
