Lake Norman

Lake Norman was born when Duke Power dammed the Catawba River to fuel its hydroelectric power plants.  Lake Norman spans across four counties and is 34 miles long with its 520 acre shoreline: Catawba County, Lincoln County, Iredell County and Mecklenburg County.  Development in this area has increased to form some upscale luxury and middle-class communities around its four historic town – Davidson, Mooresville, Cornelius and Huntersville.  Lake Norman is well known for its boating community, waterfront restaurants, retail shops and multi-million dollar homes.   Lake Norman is conveniently located 15 miles from Uptown Charlotte off of I-77.
